French soprano Charlotte Bozzi began her musical journey at the Maîtrise de Radio France, under the direction of Toni Ramon and Sofi Jeannin, where she acquired solid musical skills. In June 2024, she completed her master’s degree at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Lyon. Charlotte furthered her training with French teachers and coaches Pierre Ribémont, Marina Venant and Antoine Palloc, before joining the CNSMD of Lyon in Sophie Marin-Degor and Hélène Lucas’s class. The soprano participated in masterclasses with Annick Massis, Harmut Höll, David Selig, Anne Le Bozec, Christophe Rousset and Irène Kudela, among others.
She has performed under the baton of talented conductors such as Lionel Sow, Julien Masmondet, Stéphanie-Marie Degand, Bernard Têtu, Maxime Pitois and Philippe Forget.
As an eclectic artist, Charlotte is versatile in various repertoires. In January 2022, she performed a chamber music version of the French song Barbara by Jacques Prévert and Joseph Kosma to the audience of the Opéra National de Lyon, during a concert of the Opera Underground season. In August 2023, she performed as a soloist in many Italian madrigals with the Ensemble Zene, at the Semaines Musicales de Quimper festival, highlighting her sensitivity in Monteverdi's famous Lamento della Ninfa. Additionally, she has demonstrated her talent in oratorio repertoire on several occasions, performing as a soloist in Messe Solennelle de Sainte-Cécile and Requiem by Gounod, Fauré’s Requiem, Mozart’s Requiem and Haydn’s Missa in Tempore Belli. She also collaborates with the young soloist’s ensemble Eos XXI, initiated by conductor Sammy El Ghadab.
Charlotte's distinctive luminous voice and joyful temperament have led her to a wide variety of roles, including Despina in Mozart’s Così fan Tutte, Aréthuze in Charpentier’s Acteon, Soeur Constance in Poulenc’s Les Dialogues des Carmélites and Eurydice in Offenbach’s Orphée et Eurydice. She also performed as Frasquita in Carmen, at Dijon’s Zenith, in 2023, with the company LabOpéra Bourgogne. In this same year, Charlotte Bozzi debuted at the Opéra de Toulon, singing in an opera recital by the festival Var Opéra. In March 2024, she sang the role of Susanna in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro, at the Lyon’s Conservatoire.
In the season 2024-25, Charlotte interpreted the role of Queen of the Night in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, on a summer tour in France with the Ensemble Justiniana.
Among her next commitments, she will sing the role of Sofia in the world premiere of Le Sang du Glacier, an opera by Claire-Mélanie Sinnhuber, at the Opéra National de Lyon. Then, Léæna in Offenbach’s La Belle Hélène, at the Opéra de Toulon, and Elvira in Rossini’s L'Italiana in Algeri, at the Grand Théâtre de Genève.
As an unconditional lover of French repertoire, Charlotte has a duo with the pianist Anaëlle Reitan since 2022. Together, they won the 22ème Concours de la Mélodie Française de Toulouse and performed their first recital "Arabesque poétique : voyage en mélodie française", at Lyon Opera’s Amphitheatre in November 2023.
Charlotte is a laureate of the Arcal’s Young Artists Program First edition.
