REVIEWS

"Iulia Maria Dan's Rosalinde was not far behind, with a powerful and confident tone, elegant in her singing and acting, seeming to transport us to the nonexistent—on this occasion—sets created for this work. Her czardas in the second act, as well as the ensemble scenes in the first and second acts, are memorable."
Ramón Pereira Blanco - Bachtrack.com

"In the end, Iulia Maria Dan gives us the biggest goosebumps in her house debut as Micaëla."
Axel Brüggemann - Backstageclassical.com

"According to the libretto, Desdemona is a pure, innocent young woman who sincerely loves Otello. Iulia Maria Dan makes Desdemona's confusion palpable when Otello begins a series of aggressive outbursts accusing her of adultery. Desdemona loves Otello unconditionally and is devoted to him, which makes his unfounded condemnation incomprehensible. Dan radiates the character's innocence and willingness to forgive Otello's anger. Particularly remarkable is the way Dan makes this angelic figure seem plausible. Her warm soprano voice underscores Desdemona's loving nature and contributes to Otello's inability to comprehend how much she loves him and how mad it is for him to curse and ultimately murder the only person who values him."
