BIOGRAPHY
Lithuanian baritone Jevgenij Chrebtov holds a master’s degree in Voice from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater. From 2004 to 2006, he integrated the Opera Studio of Lithuanian National Opera & Ballet, receiving advice of Professors V. Noreika and V. Viržonis. To improve his skills, he also participated in masterclasses with V. Prudnikovas, G. Zancanaro, J. Fisher, G. Cecchele, M. Bullo and R. Lampsaitytė.
Chrebtov is awarded of competitions such as First Prize at the International Competition of Tit Kuzik 2012 (Estonia), winner of the International Voice Competition F. Chaliapin 2010 (Russia) and Third Prize at the Z. Paulauskas Competition 2001.
In the season 2023-2024, Chrebtov performed roles of Lescaut in Massenet’s Manon, at Lithuanian National Opera & Ballet and Opera Nova w Bydgoszczy (Poland); title roles in Verdi’s Nabucco and Macbeth, at the Kaunas State Musical Theatre; Sharpless in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly (Brescia’s version), at the Estonian National Opera; and Maximilian in Bernstein’s Candide, at the LNO&B.
From 2020 to 2023, Jevgenij Escamillo in Bizet’s Carmen, the title role in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin (also performed at the Latvian National Opera), Rodrigo in Verdi’s Don Carlo, Un Mandarino in Turandot and Sharpless in Madama Butterfly by G. Puccini and Carlo in Verdi’s Ernani, at the Lithuanian Opera; Mahler’s lieder cycle Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen, Nabucco and Macbeth at the Kaunas Theatre.
Other roles are part of Jevgenij Chrebtov’s repertoire such as Enrico in Donizetti’s Lucia di Lamermoor (Theatre Vanemuine, Estonia); Giorgio Germont in Verdi’s La Traviata, Conte d’Almaviva in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro and Jonas in Sodeika’s Post Futurum (Lithuanian National Opera); Falk in Die Fledermaus and Homonaj in Der Zigeunerbaron by J. Strauss II (Kaunas State Musical Theatre).
Jevgenij Chrebtov has performed under the guidance of P. Vallet, C. Diederich, P. Magi, G. Bisanti, G. Marciano, A. Volmer, R. Joost, K. Orbelian, D. Vlasenko, M. Pitrėnas, G. Rinkevičius, R. Šervenikas, V. Lukočius and M. Staškus, among others.
Among his next commitments, Jevgenij will come back to Kaunas, as Nabucco, and to the Estonian National Opera, as Sharpless.
