Graduated in singing from the CRD of Roubaix and in dramatic art from the CRR of Lille, the bass Mathieu Gourlet is positioned as a multidisciplinary artist and performs operas, but theatre as well. His career led him to work on his technique with renowned professionals such as Gabriel Bacquier, Ludovic Tézier, Patrizia Ciofi, Fabrice di Falco, Thomas Jolly, Alex Ollé, Christian Schiaretti, Marie-Eve Signeyrole, Roberto Rizzi Brignoli, Alain Altinoglu, Eivind Gullberg Jensen and Jean-Claude Malgoire.

Between 2016 and 2022, Gourlet performed roles, such as Guccio in Puccini's Gianni Schicchi, at the Opéra National de Lorraine; Jupiter in Platée by Rameau, at the Festival des Nuits du Mont Rome; Colas in Mozart's Bastien and Bastienne, at the Pierre de Roubaix Theatre.

In September 2022, the French singer got several prizes at the International Melody Competition in Gordes, giving to him opportunities to perform in concerts on the stages of Opéra Grand Avignon, Opéra de Massy and Théâtre Impérial Opéra de Compiègne.

In concert, he notably performs with the Il Buranello and New Baroque Times and Septentrion ensembles.

Among his recent and future projects, he will sing the roles of Lindorf, Miracle and Dapertutto in Les Contes d'Hoffmann on tour in Martinique and Réunion Island, with Les Voix des Outre-Mer. Then, he will take the role of Angelotti in Tosca, with Labopéra at the Zénith d'Orléans; he will be Ceprano in Rigoletto, at the Opéra de Toulon; and in his second production of Tosca, he will sing Un Sagrestano at the Théâtre Impérial Opéra de Compiègne. At the Opéra Clermont Auvergne and Opéra de Reims, he will sing Osmin in Mozart's Die Entführung aus dem Serail, reprised by several theatres in France.

"(...) Mathieu Gourlet's sacristan is more clearly distinguished by the natural projection of his superb low voice which he articulates with an impeccable sense of the situation. It is also a new temperament to follow."
