BIOGRAPHY

Born in Naples, Italian young tenor Michele Cerullo began his musical studies as a child under the guidance of his father, Enzo Cerullo, thereby laying strong musical and interpretative foundations. At a very young age, he took his first steps into the operatic world as a member of the Youth Chorus of the Teatro di San Carlo. Later, he studied voice with Luigi Giordano Orsini, before continuing his vocal and interpretative training in Bologna, with the mezzo-soprano Luciana D’Intino. Currently, he continues his artistic development with Roberto Moreschi, official pianist and coordinator of the Teatro San Carlo di Napoli. Since his early career, he has been recognized by critics as a major and talented operatic promise, characteristically Italian timbre and a radiant future, bearing witness to the great Italian tenor tradition.
Since 2017, he has been engaged in an intense concert activity, performing as a soloist in numerous concerts, musical events, and operatic festivals, appearing in prestigious theatres and opera houses. He made his operatic debut as Rodolfo in La Bohème by G. Puccini, at the Teatro Comunale di Ferrara. Shortly thereafter, he appeared in Franco Zeffirelli’s production of Aida, at the Teatro Sociale di Rovigo. He subsequently performed in several Italian theatres such as Teatro Goldoni di Livorno and Teatro Verdi di Pisa.
He later made his role debut as Ismaele in Verdi’s Nabucco under the baton of Daniel Oren, at the Teatro Verdi di Salerno.
In 2019, he made his debut at the Teatro San Carlo of Naples as Rodolfo in La Bohème. Also at the San Carlo, he has also given several concerts, accompanied by the pianist Roberto Moreschi.
Throughout his career, he has performed leading roles such as Riccardo in Verdi’s Un Ballo in Maschera, Duca di Mantova in Verdi’s Rigoletto, Rodolfo in Puccini's La Bohème and Edgardo in Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor.
Michele Cerullo won seven prizes at the Concorso Lirico Internazionale “SOI FIORENZA CEDOLINS” 2024, including the Opera Click Award.
In 2025, he sang in the New Year’s concert “Viva Puccini”, with the Orchestra della RAI, broadcast by the Italian channel.
