In the season 2026-26, He will perform the title role in Rigoletto at the Opéra d'Avignon and Zurga in Bizet's Les pêcheurs de perles at the Philharmonie de Paris.

In the 2024/25 season, Önay Köse sang Miller in Luisa Miller, a new production of Theater Osnabrück; Bluebeard in Bartók’s Bluebeard’s Castle, at the Opéra de Dijon; and he returned to Toulon, as Oroveso in Bellini’s Norma.

REVIEWS

"On the vocal side, the performance by Önay Köse is faultless: timbre, expressiveness, idiom, all the ingredients are brought together in a touching alchemy."
Erwan Gentric - Diapason

"Önay Köse embodies Bluebeard with a frontal voice and a sharp register. The narrative clarity is also that of his dark timbre as well as an imposing stage presence."
Juan Barrios - Ôlyrix

"The Turkish singer Önay Köse is, for me, the second surprise of the evening. With his multifaceted bass-baritone, he makes the plight of the devoutly religious father, who rebels against the authorities for the sake of his daughter, almost tangible, so gripping is his portrayal of Miller."
Jochen Rüth - Der Opernfreund

"Önay Köse is simply ideally cast as Luisa's father. His voice and acting are both excellent. With his powerful and warm bass-baritone, he completely captivated the Osnabrück audience. What a magnificent role debut! The scenes with him and his daughter Luisa were highlights of the evening."
