REVIEWS

"Finally, Vittorio Prato’s Belcore deserves a special mention, for his attention to the baritone vocals, emerging in the Romantic repertoire, is well known, ever since his discographic contribution dedicated to Antonio Tamburini. And his sergeant is inspired by the celebrated baritone from Faenza since the sortie, a refined tribute to the celebrated lithograph by Alexandre de Valentini, made on the occasion of the performances at the Théâtre-Italien in 1839, in which he presents himself to Adina with a bouquet of flowers in the barrel of his rifle. From here he grafts a vision of the role that certainly makes him an irresistible Don Juan, but which subtly escapes the comic cliché: this is confirmed by the nobility of accents and the care of the phrase in the exit cavatina, but perhaps, even more, by the intervention in the concerted piece of the first finale 'Il ciel grazie, o babbuino' not free from a sprezzatura bordering on violence: where he finds accents resentful of vilain, soon recomposed in the joyful invitation to dance."
Giuseppe Montemagno - Connessi all'Opera

"Vittorio Prato is no stranger to the title role, and he is completely convincing as Figaro, with his plebeian bearing, his ideal quicksilver timbre, his breathtaking eloquence, and his unbridled virtuosity from his opening "Largo al Factotum." In addition, his undeniable physical presence adds a touch of fanciness to his performance."
Benedict Hévry - ResMusica

"Within this framework, it is not easy for the soloists not to appear as caricatures: the most obvious case is that of Vittorio Prato's Belcore who, fortunately for him, offers a good vocal performance starting from the cavatina 'Come Paride vezzoso'. Prato, combining physique du rôle and a beautiful baritone timbre, credibly outlines the sergeant who seduces the beautiful Adina."
